Atlantis is a small city in Palm Beach County with a population of 2,142, according to the U.S Census estimates of 2005, and a total area of 1.4 square miles. This 834-acre development was formerly known as Mulberry Farms and was owned by former State Senator Philip D. Lewis, who formed the Mission Company to raise Brahman cattle. In 1958, Nathan Hunt and Paul Kintz purchased this ranch and the remaining two parcels along Lantana Road.
With engineers Brockway, Weber and Brockway, and designer Ernest L. Green, Hunt and Kintz sought to develop what is known today one as one of the most aesthetically beautiful country club communities in the United States. Having been granted its charter June 19, 1959, Atlantis has experienced a spectacular development in the last few years, making it of the most coveted places in Florida to raise a family with beautiful homes to suit every taste.
